Help answer this question below.
I have read both of them. They were both good, with The Da Vinci Code the better of the two.
I did not like the movie.
Both great books. Dan Brown knows how to weave great tales about history, religion, and conspiracies. Fascinating stuff in Angels and Demons about the Illuminati and their influence as a secret society to overthrow the Church.
I have read the 'Da Vinci Code'. But not the prequel.
The author in the disclaimer given at the outset says that the book's contents are pure imagination whereas the descriptions of places in the book are most authentic.
I very much liked the long journeys the author takes us through places that would be inaccessible to us. The narrative was excellent.
Even the imaginary part is very much readable keeping in mind the disclaimer given in the begenning.
I enjoyed reading the book very much.
I read most of The DaVinci Code & found it to be lousy on many levels. A lame plot, & poorly written-the best thing was its embedded article on art. From 1-10, 1.
I read the first one and I'm not sure why...then my husband took me to see the movie. It was the first time I ever fell asleep in a theatre ;)
I've read and enjoyed both. I've seen the first movie, and anxious to see the second. I think I probably enjoyed the Angels&Demons story even more than The Da Vinci Code.
I have read them both, and loved them both. I was thrilled with DaVinci Code (the movie), and am impatiently waiting for Angels & Demons to be released in May.
I do not want to give anyone the wrong impression, because I do understand that these books are fiction, however; there are several points made in these books that, to be honest, cause speculation as to the religious stories we hear today, including those within the bible. I have my faith and beliefs, but I have to admit - some of the things contained within these books (esp. DaVinci Code) do seem plausible. I've always felt the Catholic church was hiding something ( no offense to anyone ), and that book was easy to absorb into because of that theme.
They were interesting stories. The author has written several interesting novels. all well worth reading.

I read the da Vinci code. I found it a very irritating book. Ok, so the story was good - except it lost the plot towards the end, but I found the level of anagrams and codes themselves to be an irritant. I found myself working out anagrams for the name of every character, which detracted somewhat from my enjoyment. I am familiar with many french names, but the names of the characters were just a little bit untrue, therefore they had to be anagrams. I also found myself wondering about the historical accuracy of a lot of issues - and all that took away from the story, and somewhat spoiled my enjoyment of the book
I LOVE BOTH NOVELS VERY MUCH, BUT ANGELS AND DEMONS IS LESS COMPLICATED. THE DA VINCI CODE IS VERY AMAZING BUT VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND. ANGELS AND DEMONS ISN'T REALLY A PREQUEL BECAUSE THE TWO STORY LINES HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER,MATTER OF FACT, THE ONLY SIMILARITY IS THE MAIN CHARACTER.
Did the book, the Da Vinci Code teach you anything?
