  • I am not sure that any cigarettes are made with ammonia in them. However, lighting and smoking a cigarette will produce ammonia - a chemical reaction between the nicotine and paper being burnt. There are some chemicals that are put in cigs, actually in the paper cigs are wrapped in, that prohibit the cigs from burning fast. But most tobacco companies do not load cigs with chemicals - the chemicals that off-gas when a cig is burned are the result of all the stuff that make up a plant which has been dried, wrapped, then burned. other than ammonia, there is arsenic in a burning cig.
