When a teacher lectures a class, are you the one he/she stares at or does he/she stare at everyone? (My teachers always look at me, they take glances at everyone else but they always stare at me 90% of the time when they're talking)

If you're the kind of person who contributes alot to the class they may be considering you as a teaching aid - I know that sounds odd, but it just means they are aware that you will help make classes less boring and you'll give them a break due to helping out.

If you're the kind of person who uses every opportunity to turn the topic to yourself (which I don't think is your style from what I know) then they're looking at you and thinking, 'I would be happier if they were absent just once...'

If you take over the class and dominate, then they're trying to suss out what you're going to do next and realising they need to plan better for that kind of thing.

Perhaps they're checking you out? It could be that you're in class with some unattractive people and you're the odd one out?

Or it could simply be that they're good at making everyone feel like they're being included or that you're paying attention to all of them.

I had a law lecturer for the past two years who did that - she was big on eye contact and whilst they paid attention to everyone, they spent alot of time focussing on me... it's unnerving when they do it!

It's a good technique for a teacher to pick out several people in the class with expresive faces-you can tell when you are losing them-and can explain more thouroughly.
