I personally wouldn't want to place a spare tire around my neck for this exercise. I understand the concept but there is a better way. It's more of a mental exercise.
You should keep your head toward the pitcher and have your shoulders and hips closed. You need to keep them closed until your weight has transferred back to the front and your bat is coming through the hitting zone to make contact with the ball.
It's all about waiting. You must be patient and wait for the ball. Yes, even fastball pitches. That is the most important baseball hitting tip.

You're reading I was reading Kirby Pucketts book I LOVE THIS GAME ! and he was talking about putting a spare tire around his neck and resting it on his right shoulder. will the tire in that position keep the arm and shoulder from flying out of sync. please explain.
