My mother has an 8-month-old maltese named Mr. Bojangles. Lately Mr. Bojangles has been throwing up and the other night he threw up dog food. He's been having messy green bowel movements. What could be wrong with him?

• I stopped giving my dogs greenies as well after hearing that some dogs died after chewing on them. We give our dogs those flat hard square chew things and also stuffed animals (no hard eyes or anything) to chew on.

• Thats a good idea I was going to look for something like that. this was an off name brand from the greenies but it was still a scary thing to have them be sick like that, never agian will I bye them.

• I feel nervous about giving my dogs most hard chews and won't give them raw hide. I usually give them a carrot to snack on. They chew it like a bone so it lasts a while. We just have to watch because they could [possibly] choke on most treats.

• I use a poultry toothpaste and baby brush and brush their teeth. They don't like the brushing but they like the taste of the toothpaste.
