Help answer this question below.

If your house if selling at an auction because of forecloser, is the auction date the day you have to be out of the house by?? We dont know when we have to be out?

    Depends on where you are. Every state has different statutes as to when you have to be out. There are a couple states that do not address it at all in their statutes, but most do. Some states give renters more time to vacate than property owners would get, most don't. Whomever acquires the house at foreclosure sale, whether it's a bidder who came to the sale or whether the property sold back to the bank- has the right to evict occupants in accordance with the statutes of that state.

    Most people who buy houses at auctions buy them to rent out. They will normally want to make changes or paint the home as well. At auctions end ask the person who purchased your home if they will be renting it out. If so, ask if you can rent it. Also see if they will be making improvements or painting. If so, see if they will let you do some of the work in exchange for rent. This can give you an opportunity to get some money saved for your move. Usually they will have to give you 30 days to get out once your home is auctioned.
