When and why did "Friday the 13th" originate?

It is possible that those against Jesus the Christ thought that 13 was unlucky because of Jesus and 12 apostles, and that he was crucified on Friday.

According to what I have read, it was on a Friday 13th that the forces of the King raided the headquarters of the Knights Templar and killed as many of them as they could find. The King had felt that they were gaining too much power and too much money. He never did find the huge amounts of wealth they supposedly had, hence the periodic hunts for the Knight's treasure.
