This happens to me and my Acer laptop all the time when I'm attempting to scan via my lexmark. This is what I do:
-unplug printer cable from the computer.
-shut off printer
-reboot computer
-plug in printer cable
-turn on printer
Always clears up my issues, hope that helps with yours.
Why would a headphone set work when it is plugged into an ipad but will not work for a computer?
