  • APS is a system that was invented to simplify camera usage and to add a few extra features. It is also known as "Advantix" or "24mm," and cameras that are build for APS can only use APS film. 35mm cameras, of course, can only use 35mm film, and cannot use APS film. APS film pops right into a camera, and does not require much interaction from the user. No more fiddling with the film reels, making sure that the reel caught the film. Just drop it in and go. APS film also allows you to take wide panorama shots, unlike a 35mm. APS cameras are great for vacation cameras or for casual users who don't want the fuss of 35mm film loading. Serious photographers will probably stick with 35mm cameras/film because there is a greater selection of film, and high-end cameras are all 35mm.
