    i run a long extension cord from my neighbors backyard, i've been able to cut my electric bill in half.

    I've changed all the light bulbs to the low wattage energy savers and turn off the lights in rooms when I'm not in them.

    always save change and never spend it.
    at the end of the month I convert my change and put it in my bank account. Helps alot.

    Im a college student and dont work, after I get a job I might start investing that change.

    This is a real skinflint idea:

    When wrapping sandwiches for your brown bag lunch, reuse those plastic produce bags (rinsed out of course). You can save a bundle on the cost of commercially sold sandwich bags, plus they can hold larger sandwiches or other foods.

    I also reuse the produce bags to cover leftovers in the fridge.
