Help answer this question below.

My neice started crying last night and my sister started mimicing her crying. My neice stopped and looked at her as if to say "What the hell?" Have you ever heard of this meathod to get a baby to stop crying? I thought it was hilarious.

Yes I have. I think it surprises them and makes them stop crying to listen to the person mimicing them.

Yes, I've seen it many times. It usually starts from frustration...then they discover "Hey! This works!"

I did this to my granddaughter a lot...she would just stop and stare......

Yup. I've used it. It only works a few times before the kid stops caring, so use them wisely.

Yes, I knew a family whose youngest (5 or 6 years old) would wake up around 3:30 am, and start screaming. Every night, he would wake up the whole family by screaming for about 30 minutes. I suggested they all start screaming, too.

Sure enough, one or two nights later, he stopped. It was just a habit he had formed as an infant and never stopped.
