  • Hey, I answered your other questions: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/133096/358014 And since you're just 11 years old, let me add that you should talk to your parents/family about your goal and how you want to lose weight. It is also important to have supportive and understanding people with you ask you reach your goal. Get them to eat healthier too and get exercise with you so you don't feel alone or tempted to eat unhealthy foods they want to eat but you know you shouldn't. Good luck!
  • Man, that's just like I was (except I was four inches taller, and 160lb :/). All I did was go into football and went from a giant fatass with twins to a much less fat guy that could kick anyone's ass. Just one year will make you thinner, but stay in it if you're worried that your current habits will make it hard for you to lose weight. Oh, and I DO mean FOOTBALL! My little brother was fat also at a younger age than i was, and tried soccer, baseball, basketball, etc for 3 years. It just made him all the fatter. He's in football now, and feels better about himself :).
  • Hello little one. I think that you should stop eating junk food, fast food and stop drinking sodas. At your age you can drink 1 1/2 to 2 litres of water a day. Instead of watching tv after school, join a sports club or go for a ride on your bike or a walk. Maybe get mum to come with you. You will feel so much better if you do something good for your body. Good luck mate.
  • 11 yr old shouldn't try to lose weight, you'll lose the weight while you grow up. If you cut down on food then you'd be stunted growth wise.
  • Hey, I think you should just concentrate on eating better and drinking more water. Ya know, instead of drinking 3 cans of soda a day have 2 and some water. Since you're still young you can probably grow out of it in a few years. One of the best ways is to cut out junk food and drink water. I always try to ask myself if I would rather lose weight or eat a brownie. Sometimes the brownie wins but indulging a little keeps you from over eating later. Good LUCK!
  • Being in this situation myself, I can offer you some advice that I took. When I was 11 I was 5ft 4 (you're very big for your age at 5ft 3) and 140lbs. What I did was stop drinking so many fizzy drinks and instead drank milk. This combined with my growth has turned me into a 6ft 1 14 year old who weighs 148 lbs. So don't worry
  • These are all great advise but I also think you should go see a doctor. Something might not be working like it should and therefore anything you try will not work. My sisters kid is 9 about 4 1/2 feet tall and weight is 130 he has problems with surgars in food some he has to watch what he eats very carefully. That would be my first step see your doctor.
  • Well, I was in your situation too. The more you tangle with the urges to eat, the more the problem grows. Try re-focusing on simpler things like music or simple tasks that you do. The less you worry and overthink about the problem the easier it will be. Just breathe and enjoy things outside or relax and notice the little things around you and enjoy them instead. You'll find that you're more content and happier that way.
  • I know how you feel. i wanted to join the USMC so i had to lose 50 lbs to do it. What i did was ate 1 bowl of cereal for breakfast, then one for lunch, and walked at least two miles a day. In the mean time, eat fruits and vegies for a snack. I lost 53 lbs in TWO months. Just keep trying. You can do it.
  • First of all you need to change how you eat. Choose foods that are healthy like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy. Second, get plenty of physical activity. Join a sport or if you are not into sports try something you can do on your own like bicycling, skateboarding, or even just take a dog for a walk. (if you don't have one borrow a neighbor's provided it is friendly and will let you handle it). The key is healthy eating and physical activity. You are still growing and as you grow your weight will redistribute over your frame. But getting into the habit of being healthy now can help you grow into a healthy adult. Also, if this is something that is causing you some health problems then ask your parents to set up a consultation with a dietician. A dietician specializes in healthy eating and he/she can help you form a plan for healthy eating and give you all kinds of information on the right things you should be eating for your age.
  • my little brother is 145 pounds. he weighs more then me. i am 14 and weigh 116 pounds. i know right .. so im telling you from what my brother has been trough to just stop and think. what are you doing? look at yourself. its like you dont even care. but you need to. if you really want to loose weight then you need to be determined. give your self a healthy diet. exercise and o it ruguarly. it will help. i promise. =]
  • Talk to your pediatrician, the next time your folks take you in for a checkup. He can tell you how much weight (if any) you need to lose, and how to go about it safely through diet and exercise.
  • i found that taking the dog for long walks every day helped me. its easy to say 'eat better and excercise blah blah blah' but if you havnt got the motivation to do it you wont succeed. set yourself a realistic goal and get the family involved too. ask mum if she wants to loose weight too and make up a food chart. write down the days monday to sunday and make up healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. also, if you need any support email me charisse123@btinternet.com your not alone mate! xx
