Leave them where the are for now, taking them out straight away will distress her. In a few days she will leave the eggs and then you can remove them.

You're reading My female has been laying eggs and I have yet to check inside the nesting box. I found an egg yesterday on the bottom of the cage, should I be worried about it? This is the first time she's laid eggs so I'm wondering if I should take the eggs out or not.

I didn't know you knew about birds, Rince. Cool!! I love parrots :)

Does that mean she's gonna throw them all away?
I'm just a little confused... don't know if she's just throwing out the bad ones or not.
I had another parakeet a couple of years ago who would kill the babies once they hatched and I don't want that to happen to her.
And I forgot to add that she is breeding with the male I have in the same cage, couldn't fit it in the question.
Should I check in the box or just wait?
Thank you for answering too! :)

I love almost any kind of bird, but I like ones you can interact with the best. Otherwise, ya might as well have a fish :-/

If shes breeding, then thats a bit different, eggs she has thrown and is ignoring can be removed straight away. Thats not to say there are more in the nesting box, don't disturb that, let nature take its course :-)

Ok then! I'll just wait and hope for the best!
And parakeets are great birds! We've always had parakeets since I was a kid. The only kind of bird we ever had really, except for one parrot.
I'm hoping her eggs are fertalized though. I'm hoping to train them. :D
