Help answer this question below.

In charlie and the choc. factory, if he and grandpa joe had not been able to burp after drinking the fizzy lifting drinks, how do you think the story would end? would they die? would the factory close and the oompa loompas deported?

    Well, Charlie and Grandpa Joe would have been chopped to bits in the blades of the exhaust fan, and which would be a huge scandal for the Wonka corporation. Willy Wonka would deny any sort of wrongdoing. The police would investigate and rule the matter an unfortunate accident.

    Later, OSHA would vigorously inspect Wonka's factory. Various improvements, including grates which cover all intake and/or exhaust fans and sturdy fences placed around the chocolate river would need to be implemented to bring the factory up to code.

    And after discovering that the fizzy lifting drinks were partially responsible for their deaths, the FDA would launch a full investigation into the safety of consuming Wonka products.

    The INS would also play a role in the investigation of Willy Wonka's factory practices as well. The Oompa Loompas are not American citizens and have no visas. Although Wonka takes care of their needs (shelter, food, clothing, etc) they also are not getting paid for the work that they do. Because of their illegal staus, the majority of Oompa Loompas were deported back to Loompaland, although a few managed to stay in the US for political asylum.

    Meanwhile,Charlie's family and Grandma Georgina would find a pro bono lawyer and file wrongful death suits. The suits would drag on for years and years and eventually settled. Unfortunately, Grandma Georgina would never see the settlement.

    Wonka would continue to make chocolates but the scandals and lawsuits would take its toll. Because of strict monitoring by the FDA, the candy would never be as good as it had been. Without all of his Oompa Loompas, he was forced to hire people at minimum wage plus benefits. His profits would drop and his company would continue to decline. However, his reputation as a chocolate maker is a strong one, so I think his company would continue to limp along.

    Sadly, Mr Wonka would be found dead a few years after the scandal due to consuming too much Butter Scotch. Only a few Oompa Loompas and Augustus Gloop (who credited Wonka for bringing his morbid obesity to light) would come to mourn him.

    Sad day, if they didn't burp they would have been killed by the fan and i don't think tho oompa loompas would have liked to clean up that mess...

    In America the FDA would shut the factory and immigration would deport the illegal oompa loompas.Charlie's Mom would sue Willy Wonka and get rich.Looks like she has a golden ticket:)

    Ha ha ha ha ha ha. That is worth speculating about. Probably, the Oompa Loompas and Willy would have covered it all up. Then, the Oompa Loompa named Scooter would be convicted but pardoned because he is little and orange.
