How do you over come your fear of a pap smear? I have to get my first one tomarrow and I am scared to death of being spread out and 'on display' infront of someone I don't know. PLEASE someone help me.

I know I'm a guy so I don't get it but my wife is the same way. I tell her don't worry, they have seen thousands and thousands, they have seen everything. It only takes 2 min. It will be over before you know it. Have your BF or mom go with you. Good luck. Oh I read what I said to my wife and she said to relax, the more you do the easier it is and there is less discomfort.

Relax the Dr's are professionals, it is a bit scary but try to put in out of your mind. They use a drape and it is very quick.

you can always deal with std's and cervical cancer.. which is worse?

- That's not my problem. It's not like I wasn't going to do it just cause I was scared. I simply wanted to make it easier.

  how about knowing you're body will be taken care of, and you can aviod cervical cancer. Go in with some questions, and talk to your doctor while they are down there.
