(Genesis 19:1-5) Now the two angels arrived at Sod′om by evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sod′om. When Lot caught sight of them, then he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the earth. 2 And he proceeded to say: “Please, now, my lords, turn aside, please, into the house of YOUR servant and stay overnight and have YOUR feet washed. Then YOU must get up early and travel on YOUR way.” To this they said: “No, but in the public square is where we shall stay overnight.” 3 But he was very insistent with them, so that they turned aside to him and came into his house. Then he made a feast for them, and he baked unfermented cakes, and they went to eating. 4 Before they could lie down, the men of the city, the men of Sod′om, surrounded the house, from boy to old man, all the people in one mob. 5 And they kept calling out to Lot and saying to him: “Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have intercourse with them.”
"Where are the MEN"...[ Two angels arrived...]
So they must have looked like men.,
I know that some people like to assume or believe that sodomy refers to only homosexual acts, but the definition of sodomy includes oral-genital contact and anal-genital contact regardless of the sexual orientation of the parties.
The only reference to the angels looking like men is ancillary. The townspeople in demanding that the angels be brought out to them say, "Where are the men which came in to thee this night? " Lot, in chastising the townspeople, says at one point, ". . .only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof." And the text itself in describing how the angels rescued Lot from the mob says, "But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them,. . ." Otherwise the angels are not described.
I think that there is scant evidence, if any, (biblically speaking) that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah addresses specifically homosexuality. The Judaic tradition (and they wrote the story, after all) was that Sodom's primary sins were pride and meanness. In Ezekiel one finds the words, "Behold, this was the sin of thy sister Sodom; pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw this."
What do you think of Deuteronomy 22:28-29? I personally think this would severely reduce rape if made Law as God wanted it.

You're reading Why is it called sodomy? I know the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, but I'm wondering where in the bible it says that the angels looked exactly like men.
