Ok I haven't received an answer so I will start to answer my own question. And it may take a while.
Error Code: Service Engine Soon Light
Diagnosed by Auto Zone
Definition
MAP (Man Absolute Pressure)/BARO or MAF (Mass Air Flow/VAF (Vane Air Flow) sensor condition
Explanation
All vehicles have one or more of these components.
Engine load or the air volume entering the engine is measured by these components. The computer has recognized a return signal error.
Probable Causes:
1-Vacuum hose off, cracked or passage blocked-Engine mechanical timing condition
2-Throttle body intake tube loose, off, or cracked
3-BARO(Barometer)/MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) defective
4-VAF (Vane Air Flow) MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor dirty or defective
It turns out it is the MAF sensor which as I was told they rarely go but mine has clearly gone. I will look into the spray though. The price I believe will range about $140 but am considering calling salvage yards. Thank you.

You're reading 2000 Grand Prix 3.8L V6 srvc engn soon rpm elevates on own from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 or so. has stalled once but aside from that still runs well except it is consistently raising rpms. Could be crazy but feel that light goes off when the heat off. not an expert

I hadn't noticed your question, unfortunately. There is a spray cleaner you might try for your MAF sensor. It costs abou 6 or 7 dollars at Auto Zone. Other than that, check all your connections. If you want to try replacing the MAF sensor you might price it both at the auto parts store and from a salvage yard. I don't know how expensive they are.

Thank you for your answer. I am trying to wait to get paid to replace this part. I hope I am not doing further damage as I can hear some noise but the diagnostic was just that so I will hope that clear it all up as aside from the idle and hearing a noise the car is running fine.
