I withdrew off quite a strong dose of Effexor just over a year ago. The withdrawals are extremely severe. I still have lasting side effects. I get dizzy, insomnia, memory loss, confusion, etc. The sad thing is that I have tried replacing it but nothing else works and now I am having to go back on it again, at a higher dose. Yes, it takes a long time for the withdrawals to dissipate. My only advice is to just hang in there. I know what you are going through and it is horrific. Don't rely on your doctor for advice! Whatever you do, see a specialist. My doctor was giving me wrong advice. The specialist really helped. Good luck to you. Salaam
