Question

Help answer this question below.

Why does everyone say that the Lord is "coming soon" when, according to their beliefs no one knows the time or date and it is supposed to be unexpected? Do these people just feel the need to pretend to be "in" on it as if they just know?

Warnings that “Christ’s return is near” are based upon references in several books of the Bible. There are numerous interpretations, but one of the primary events was the return of Israel to Jerusalem that facilitates the prophecies of Isaiah and Hosea. Below are several references which are happening now.
In the Last Days the Kingdom of God would be established in Jerusalem, as chief among the nations. See Isaiah 2:2-3 --- Also Israel would return to their land and seek the Lord. See Hosea 3: 4-5
People will hoard wealth in the Last Days unto their destruction. See James 5:3-5
Peter said during the Last Days, God would pour out His spirit on all people and there would be signs in the heaven and on earth before the coming of the Lord. See Acts 2:17-20 --- In the Last Days even religious people would dismiss the idea of Christ's return. See 2 Peter 3:3-4

No vesper. At least not for me. The scriptures are very clear the signs we need to be watching for to know the day is near. You are correct... no one knows the day or the hour... however, we are given and instruction book in the Bible. So in a way, Christians are 'in' on it. And most will try to share that truth with you. God's prophesies are true. Over 90% of prophesies have been fulfilled correctly from the Bible. That tells me that it is accurate and true. We just have to pay attention to the signs and love God with our whole heart. These are scary times if you have no Savior.

Its simply because as the world gets more dangerous, and as things seem to get worse, there simply must be some sort of redeemer, one that will save us from this mess.

Also, certain bible prophecies are being/have been fulfilled.

What a great question!! I'd say that it is because everyday we get closer and closer. Some hope it will come today/tomorrow. They do not want it to be years/decades from now.

Of course, this is only my opinion. Hope it helps.

    God Bless, <:))))<><

Because of the prophecies in Daniel and Revelations, among others that prove that Jesus is coming soon. Many of the things in the Bible are symbolic, but it is fairly easy to pick up on what they mean.

Here is a very good free ebook that I found on Bible prophecy-I'm reading it now and finding it very informative!

No one knows the exact date except God, but He has told us to watch the world around us and study what is happening in the world so that we can have an idea.

He does not want us to know the exact date, because a lot of people would just wait till the last minute to accept Jesus and believe in what He did for us.

He wants us to be on our toes and READY for when He comes back. :)

Those that say it are going by scripture. The bible tells us the signs that we should look for. To be ready. Those that try to put a specific date on it, are going against scripture. We are only given the warning signs.
