Normally only takes a few days. Best thing to do though in those situations would be to wait two days then call back around noon. Anything longer than a week is too long though.

seriously..it depends on how in depth their background check is...if it is just a regular credit, criminal, housing court check..I get my results in 5 minutes..If it is a more extensive "country wide" check it might take a full day..

I put in my 30day notice, my landlord sent me a notice to pay rent for those 30days, can I get evicted. Even if I moved out by the 30days

this is 2009...I can get a credit/housing/criminal court check sent to me via fax or email in less than 5 minutes....the only thing that I can see "maybe" taking a few days is reach professional references...personal references should be made aware they will be called so they make themselves readily available..

Just because this is 2009, doesn't mean people work faster. People are still lazy and incompetent as people back in 1900's. I didn't say that it would take a few days for the check, I meant that the process takes a few days.
