Myson wants a PS3 for his birthday in June. He'll be 7, and my EX being the B!TCH that she is has forbidden me from buying him one. Not being a big gamer what should I get(all the bells and whistles) and for how much?

You should find out why she has forbidden it first off. She might have a very good reason for not wanting him to have it. (ADHD can be aggravated severely by video gaming and to much TV time) Parenting is a partnership, you two should have a game plan you can agree with when it comes to how he is raised.

Why are you allowing for her to forbid you from buying something within reason(which a PS3 is)for your child's birthday? It's really none of her business. But in the event you allow her to forbid you, how about a surprise puppy? I'm afraid she wouldn't like me very well! ha ha

- my mom's been divorced 3times, but i never recall either party being vindictive... then again she was under the "these are my kids except every other weekend" policy so if we came home with new stuff (I.E. GameGear... yeah the first hand held... i totally had it lol and still do... damn thing takes 6AA batteries) she didn't care and if we went over there and had soda even tho she didn't approve she let it slide... we even celebrated all our birthdays together (even my last one) guess my parents (even divorced) were weird, lol

- I had the same experience as a child. My parents & stepparents got along great! If my sister & I had a school event or sports event or even birthdays they all were there & even sat together like old friends. Never any animosity & it was very pleasant because of it! Some people should take lessons from parents like yours & mine & the world would be better for it. Thanks,

Dude the kid is only 7... If u ask me I highly recomend the wii the ps3 will be $400-$600 depending on the gb vs the wii $300 and the wii is also great fun trust me... I have both systems

dont get him a ps3....none of the teenagers there want to have a little 7 yr old child playing... and he is very careless and could break it easily at that age, wait to buy big gaming systems (ps3, xbox) till age 11-13+ for now stick to wii,psp, and nintendo 3DS
