    First you have to find the circumference of the tire by using:

    circumference = pi * diameter

    Were pi is (rounded off) 3.14

    In this case 50 cm * (means times/multiplication) 3.14 = 157 cm

    Next you have to reduce 1 kilometer and your 157 centimeters into the same unit of measure.

    1 KM = 1000 meters
    1 meter = 100 centimeters

    Therefore one KM is 1000 meters * 100 = 100,000 centimeters.

    Then it is a process of division.

    100,000 divided by 157 = 636.9426751592

    rounded off we can say 637 revolutions
