  • If you put it in something she likes, she mite eat it without realising. Like a piece of ham or something you can hide it in. Or you could try crushing it up in her food??
  • Too bad she doesnt know what tapeworm is. =|
  • Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. You may have to get someone to hold her really tightly (try wrapping her in a towel or blanket first) while you open her mouth and stick the tablet down her throat. Hold her mouth shut and massage her throat for a minute until you are sure it's gone down. I know this sounds really awful, but I had to do it with mine, because they knew when I had hid their pills in food and this was the only way I could get them to take their medicine, and you won't be hurting them. They get over it quicker than you will believe me.
  • It is difficult to get cats to take meds, I suggest that you hold your cat against your side with one arm, it is best to be up against a table, then hold open the side of your cats cheek and put the meds in with a small syringe that the vet should have given to you. The cat will be forced to swallow most of the meds. The get used to this fast and soon will not let you catch them
  • If it is a pill, encase it in a little bit of American Cheese or Liverwurst. Open the mouth, pitch it to the back of the mouth, close the mouth and massager the neck in a downward motion.
  • You can put the pill in a Pill Pocket which is a little dough like treat that has a little hole in it and it comes in tuna and chicken flavors and you get it fromthe vet or at a pet supply store. Some catslike them and willjust eat them easy with the pill inside. Also, you can hold cat and tilt head back and open mouth with fingers, drop pill (which you can coat with a little margarine or butter), in back of throat and close mouth . Cat will swallow and not even know the pill went down.
  • well if its a pill, you can mix it with water and she will just drink it without knowing thatnits medication. i tried that with my cat and it worked!also you can try hiding it with her treats, and because most cats eat with their eyes closed they wont even know that its there. make sure to treat it when it has eaten the medication. GOOD LUCK!
  • Smash the pill up in a ziplock bag. Pour the crumbs into some tuna and stir it up.
  • I had this trouble today but with flea pills as the kittens won't stay still for long enough with the drops and it gets all over their fur and doesn't work! I tried with the 8 week old kitten, wrapping ham around the pill but it didn't work, i then tried putting it in his mouth with the ham, he spat it out and refused to open his mouth again. I left it about 20 minutes then crushed it up with the flat of a knife and rubbed the ham in it, then got another piece of ham and wrapped it around that to mask the smell and it worked!! Luckily the 12 week old kitten ate it in an instant when hidden whole in the ham. Just dreading having to do it tomorrow, pray it works first time!!!!
  • Try sticking the pill in a blob of butter and open her mouth an pop it in.Hold her mouth shut and its swallowed in no time.
