They can be annoying, stumble all over your place, knocking things over and vomit on the carpet.
Stoners are so dopey, they are happy to sit in a corner smiling at the wallpaper.

Drunks are often violent and dangerous to themselves and others. Stoners usally sit around surfing the web or giggling while watching Drawn Together. Fairly harmless. The stoniest lady I know is in her mid-50's and she likes to watch murder mysteries and color in period costume coloring books with colored pencils. For hours. And HOURS. Now that's a stoner.

They are both bad. A drunk is bad because they can become obnoxious or abusive. A stoner is bad because they are using illegal drugs. I don't think either is necessarily worse than the other because they are both wrong.

A drunk is definitly worse than a stoner,but I also think that anything in excess is extremely bad for you,so I don't care to hang with either one.I would much rather hang with someone who does not carry that kind of label.People who drink or smoke weed in moderation is fine.A drunk or a stoner are both pretty annoying to me.

Probably a drunk. Drunkards are usually loud and obnoxious, rude for no reason- and downright DRUNK. Some can't function while under the influence and their whole personality changes, which can get scary, and even weird. You may even learn something about them that you didn't care to know.
While on the other hand, a "stoner" will brush you off in most cases when an arguement is starting to arise, based on the fact that they don't want to "blow" their high.

It depends on the underlying intelligence and personality of the individual in question. Many drunks are completely incapable of being reasoned with, but many stoners are incapable of staying focused long enough to be reasonalble.
On the whole though, based on my own personal experience and interactions, I'd have to go with the stoners, if for no other reason than that they are more passive and less likely to want to fight the world like drunks tend to want to do all the time.

A drunk, hands down..............By stoner, I assume you mean weed alone? If so, I'll say this, I've been a cop for 23 years and have never been called to a house because some guy smoked a bowl and them beat up his wife. But, I've seen many, many, drunks, speed, crack etc... that beat the hell out their significant others, kids, pets, cars, or whatever. Also, seen alot of thieves stealing to get their next fix, but no stoners. Weed should have never been made illegal, you think maybe the tobacco or alcohol industry might have had some influence on that? I've often wondered what percent of our current senate and congress smoke weed?

I have had to deal with both and there is no diffrence in how bad it is to live with them. Neither can function normally. They lack responsability. Always someone else's fault. They neglect and abuse their children and spouses. Spend money they don't have and steal everything in site to feed their habits because they can't hold a job. Not to mention the legal problems from driving under the influnce, theft, public intoxication, and possesion of a controlled substance. They both can become violent either due to lack of the drug or being to far gone to have any inhabitions. They both damage what ever intellegance they might have for good. Tha sad thing is they both think they're so much smarter then everyone. Sorry to say, but it's almost impossible to carry on a conversatition with either weather they're sober or not. They lack maturity because they stop developing at the age they start. And don't even get me started on the health problems like cancer of the mouth, throat, stomach, and lungs plus brain damage. I won't put up with either one now.

A drunk is way worse than a stoner. Drunks often get rowdy and violent whereas stoners get lazy and hungry most of the time. I have friends and family that represent members of both category. And my boyfriend's boss told him he'd rather hire stoners than drunks because the stoners get their work done (after hitting the 7-11 for munchies) whereas the drunks just start trouble.

A drunk, no doubt about it. I quit smoking, uh, special tobacco and I don't drink, as I was a full blown, 24/7 alcoholic for 5 years. So I feel rather qualified to answer your question. Alcohol kills. Alcohol makes people do things that they would not otherwise do. Alcohol is addictive. I think mj is slightly addictive, but withdrawal from heavy alcohol dependence is very difficult. For me, it required a complex benzodiazapine taper to keep me from having a seizure, stroke, or heart attack. Alcohol is also much more dangerous when people drive under its influence. Granted, stoned drivers are not good, but they are usually hyper-cautious although badly coordinated, wheras drunks do stupid things that get people killed. Alcohol is probably the number one facilitator of rapes. About marijuana: being a stoner is not a productive way to go about life. It saps your energy and makes you fat, lazy and stupid. But you know what? Fat, lazy and stupid is better than the deranged and extremely harmful antics that drunks often do. Stoners usually want to be left alone; they do not want to bother other people- sometimes this verges on paranoia. But the point is that they do not hurt other people. (Please don't give me that bull about pot supporting terrorism) Neither are good ways to live, and I've lived them both, but a bad stoner is better than a good drunk any day of the week.

Having had the unfortunate opportunities to live with both, they both suck. Pot makes them indifferent, stupid, and extremely boring. I've had plant life with more personality than a pothead. Now drunks are rarely indifferent, in fact they are normally the opposite, getting exceeding upset or angry over little things, yelling, agruing, or crying, they're just a ton of fun. I also always enjoyed cleaning up the mess, the cigarette burns, spilled liquor, vomit, and picking up the person themselves when they pass out somewhere. And just the plain cleaning up for the pothead who really can't conceive of the concept of accomplishing anything.
So which is worse, the jerk who sits around all day laughing at his toes, or the person you have to tiptoe around because you don't know how much vodka, beer, or whatever he's had today, the answer is neither.

Its not the specifics of which is worse, it's how bad it can get. If you are with a happy drunk and a lazy stoner, then at the time the drunk is better. But if you are with a happy stoner and an angry drunk, than the drunk is worse. Personally I have never seen someone get stoned and beat the crap out of anyone, so on my personal tally, I think that drunk is worse.

in my opinion a drunk is way worse than a stoner,
most drunk people act way more aggressive than a stoned people. on a night out drinking people would be more likely to see or be involved in a fight,
a night in smoking people would be more inclined to see stoners relaxing and having a laugh!!

@Deepseas - That is somewhat true (for example, I am extraordinarily resistant to the mental/emotional effects of alcohol), but the generalizations are still true in the vast majority of cases.
We are all human beings. We all have similar biochemistry. Drugs affect us the same way in most cases.
