Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 2001 Cavalier. My air conditioner seems like its blowing outside air. It doesn't blow cold air. Heat works fine and the compressor works. Whats wrong?

Where are you, that you need your car air conditioner now?

First guess is that your AC is low on refrigerant. If you're handy, you can buy a gauge (some of them look like tire gauges and are quite cheap) and check the system pressure.

If it's too low, you can buy cans of refrigerant (2001 cars probably use "R-134a") and a hose with fittings. It would be good for the first can to have some leak sealant and conditioner in it.

Make sure that you find out which of the inlets is the Low Pressure Side--you'll want to put the stuff in there.

At this point, you're only out $30 or so. If that remedy doesn't work, you'll probably need a pro to look at it.
