I think I would, personally...but maybe you start seeing things differently once you become famous, and he has been as such for quite a while, and maybe after a bit you just don't care. Or maybe you do. I don't know.

nope. he says he writes what he wants, and if people dont like them then he doesnt really care. i think thats a good thing. if you write, then you should write what you want and what flows out of you/ if people wrote just what they thought people would like then we wouldnt have the greatest books of our time
