Yes. As a child my grandparents had a natural mountain spring in their backyard. It was the only water they had. It was the best tasting water ever. And always cold.

i have and i have been told drinking mountain stream water is very dangerous to one's health. there is fecal matter in the streams, and worms in the water. they can cause intestinal problems worse than one could imagine.
