XYZ is a corporation, and as such exists to generate profit for its stockholders. The nature of corporate structure makes this the primary imperative of any corporation. If XYZ is evaluating the wage and comp package, it is for one of two reasons:
1) to cut costs and increase profit by decreasing wages or benefits;
or
2) to decrease training costs and turnover by increasing wage or benefits.
These decisions are typically not handled by marketing departments.
