  • Usually around late Spring and anytime in Summer when the temperatures are quite high. Like dogs and cats, rabbits get warm, too. Shedding their fur helps release buildup in heat and causes a good relief to your little bunny friend. ;)
  • My rabbits are outside and they shed whenever the temps warm up. like right now even though its november we're having a cold streak and theyre shedding. they shed pretty much year round but especially right before summer and right after summer
  • Rabbit always seem to shed right before you are going to a show! ARG!
  • Rabbits will shed every three months, though they don't always shed heavy each time. You will be able to tell when they are doing a heavy one and then the next one will most likely be a light one. Some rabbits shed all their hair at once....very convenient! But others take up to 2 weeks to finish their molt.
  • Late spring and summer. If your rabbit is mated accidently, you will see great quantities of fur around the cage, which is not shedding, but pulling for a nest.
  • Rabbits don't shed, they go through moults. I think they usually go through three or four moults a year (so, every three or four months), but that might vary with the region and the weather.
