Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 97 Accord 170K miles. After the car is warm, and I am driving in rain and go through a puddle, a loud rythmic clunking noise comes from under the front passenger seat. It seems to worsen if I accelerate while going through the water.

The loud, rhythmic clunk noise makes me think it's a worn CV joint. Are you *sure* the sound is coming from under the seat or further forward? There isn't much under the seat pan IIRC that can make noise.
I certainly would recommend having a pro take a look under the car.
You say the sound seems to worsen if you accelerate- does that mean it gets louder, or the rhythm gets faster, or both?

It could be something to do with your suspension. You may have a bad bushing somewhere or something might be loose. Have that checked out. It could also be a loose lugnut or two, make sure those are tight.
