Is today groundhog day? When is it? How does it work?

    Yes it is groundhog day.
    It's German Folklore that if a groundhog comes out of his hole and sees his shadow, then there will be 6 more weeks of winter because he will get scared and go back into his hole. If he does not see his shadow then that means we will have an early spring. Today the ground hog did NOT see his shadow so now according to folklore we will have an early spring.

    Groundhog Day is always the 33rd day of the year. And your best bet is to expect the opposite of what the groundhog tells you. Statistically, he is wrong more often then he's right.
