Question

Help answer this question below.

My ears have been at a 6g for around 6months now and I've been wearing acrylic pinchers. The right ear has become red and sore, not swollen though. There's no pus or blood from what I can see. I stretch one size at a time. Is it infected?

acrylic is not recomended for stretching because some people react poorly to it which i believe is happening to you if you i would go to a piercing artist and have them change the acrylic for a surgical steel or titanium plug/tunnel/pincher and see if that clears it up

Acrylic isn't good for long term wear, and should NEVER be used to stretch with. 6g is a good size to start wearing glass, it's one of the gentlest materials. Implant grade titanium or steel would be good too. Since it sounds like you're reacting, once your ear clears up don't wear your acrylic for more than a few days straight, and wash it every day that you do. Wrapping teflon tape around it will help as well, keeping the plastic from touching your ears.
