Help answer this question below.

I have a 2000 3.0 V6 Ranger, and in the morning, when its cold, my serpentine belt squeaks. I've done my homework, and I know it could by the belt, tensioner, or pulleys. But in this situation, when its only in the morning, could it be something specific?

    Yeah hon..you answered you're own question as well. I would start with the belt. Change it, if it doesn't stop or the belt isn't fully worn out and if that is the case MORE than most likely it is the tensioner..I wouldn't worry about the pulley's. Ford's are notorious for "serpentine" probs...It could be most of all just cause it's cold, depending on where you live will tell you how much "tension" is there or is lacking on the belt itself. But if you start with the belt and move up, you'll find MORE than most likely. One of the two will fix it.

    It is most likely happening in the morning because it is cold and maybe has dew on it. The cold will stiffen the belt, and along with the moisture will make the friction of the belt lower. Most noises come out in a car in this environment.

    A new or adjusted belt will probably help this.
