Assuming human populations will reduce due to overshoot, what will be the main causes of death during the first wave of dieback, and approx how many will we lose?

It's not all about death. With a reduction in resources also comes a reduction in the birth rate. Less births with the same amount of deaths would also cause a decrease in overall population. With fewer resources like clean water, more people will die from malnutrition. Less clean water also leads to disease spreading. Less water for agriculture would lead to food shortages. Not sure about the number of losses though.
