Question

Help answer this question below.

I've had 2 goldfish for the past few months and have always used purified water. I invested in a larger tank for them & used tap water (w/ conditioner) and within hours of introducing them to the new tank they both died. Can goldfi

You should of put some of the old water in with the new water, you prbably shocked them by introducing them to a new environment to quickly.

Sorry to hear your loss. Could be temperature shock or ph shock or a combination of both and some water conditioners don't condition water instantly.

I didn't phrase that very well. Obviously my goldfish died, but this is the only thing that comes to mind for determining their cause of death. I feel bad, I was only trying to make things more comfortable for them. A friend says it's because I didn't boil the rocks in their tank... I washed them twice, even sifted them. They looked alright... I put a fern in the tank.. ??
