Degenerate Art is a term coined by the Nazis in Germany during the years 1933-39. They used this term to denigrate any art that did not conform to their petit-bourgeois taste (they dismissed the entire artistic vanguard of their time). There has been a comprehensive exhibition about "Degenerate Art" at the LA County museum of art.
