I would think loyalty tends to be an aspect of someone's personality whereas being faithful is more of a choice/obligation.
Someone who stands up for their friends when another person speaks badly of them behind their back. Would fight for them.
That is loyal.
Staying with a person that is self-destructive but obviously loves you.
That is being faithful.
"I'm loyal to my friends and family. To my belief system and passions. I am faithful to my significant other and my 9-5 job."
That's about the best I've got.
i would say being loyal is more like being trustworthy and being faithful means you have a stronger devotion to your objective
I think being loyal means always coming back - and adding the faithful bit would mean always coming back to the same partner only ;)

You're reading I am currently writing a diary-like story wherein a girl is expressing her feelings about the person she loves the most. I need help regarding this issue - what is the main difference of being loyal from being faithful. Thanks.
