No nothing goes up to meet Cost of living rises

but people on a minimum wage can claim a lot of other benefits if they have children. Even well paid earners get paid for having children.

Pensioners not having children seem to be the ones worst affected

- What are you going to do, pay a bag boy $10-12 per hour? The poor neighborhoods don't need a higher minimum wage, they need training programs.

- Firebrand,I know the situation in Britain and fortunatly for your low wage earners the benefits your government gives these people is more generous,and gives them a chance to raise there families with some dignity

Small increase in wages? The increase in minimum wage was pretty significant in percentage. I think it was fitting because it has been a long time since the minimum wage was raised, but I don't see it needing to be raised higher for some time.

- The issue isn't how much minimum wage is. The issue is getting these people training and education so they can make more than that.
