Mister IT is trying to Liahona outta here

Question

Help answer this question below.

Mormons, D&C 130:22 says: "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also" Why does God need or want such a thing? What good are any of these bodily systems to an omnipotent being? (He doesn't need eyes to see, does he?)

All the things God does for us are designed to help us become more like him.

He gives us the resurrection, which gives us a perfected and immortal body. If that makes us more like him, then he must have one.

My guess is that it relieves the boredom. Can you imagine an eternity of omnipotence?

Just because God is omnipotent does not mean that the parts that He is made of do not contribute to His omnipotance. If He needs His perfect glorified fingers to hang the stars and align the planets, that detracts nothing from His ability to hang the stars and align the planets.
If His power to see and behold all things is generated from His perfect and glorified eyes... He still sees and beholds all things.
It is enough for me that God can do all things imaginable, I do not expect Him to do all things imaginable in all ways imaginable.

Matthew 16:21, 26:32; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:39, 24:46; 1 Nephi 10:11; 2 Nephi 26:1; Mosiah 16:8; and many other scriptures state that Christ did/would take up his body again after being the grave for three days. A body is a very important part of God's plan. If God doesn't want us to have a body--why did he give us them?
