yes, when I was dating a few times. Its very akward. I did let them know gently. I had the same happen to me once. I still hurt a lot over it as it was someone I dated for quite some time and really did love and think of quite often still.

Yes, and I told them I didn't love them so I wouldn't lead them on.

No, never. However, I have been told many times 'I love you' when the person saying it didn't really love me.

Well, yes and no. I have been raised to love everybody, but not necessarily in a romantic way. If you're talking in a romantic way I've had it happen too many times, but I don't believe the guy actually loved me, he loved what he thought was me. I let anyone this happened to know that I loved them, but not in the way they wanted me to love them. I was nice about it, but slightly mean to make sure I got my point across.

I'm not sure why there is a -2 rating on this? It seems to be a valid question. I'm bumping it back up with a +2. My answer is yes - and it is a terrible, terrible feeling to know that someone can bare their soul to you in such a way and you feel... well, nothing.

Yes. I was a total a**hole about it too. For strange, hard-to-explain reasons. I was also 16 btw. I didn't think a 17 yr old's love was real, but it was real to him. I would love to be able to take that back.
