A successful employer looks for competence in his employees. "What experience do you have? Are you willing to learn? Can you think for yourself" If it's George W. Bush, all he requires is loyalty. "The boss is always right, whether his ideas will work or not." As we know now, they didn't.

It depends on the job that you're interviewing for. Either way if you connect with the interviewer and show them that your first priority is them, then you shouldn't have a problem. If all else fails show a little leg. That never hurts. We're going to need pictures of how you dressed in order to evaluate if you look at your best. It will help if you show us before your dressed and after. :)

Professionalism -- he/she looks for all the marks of professionalism. Is the applicant dressed appropriately? Can he/she effectively communicate their ideas? Is there a professional attitude?

Personality. How well you can get along with others. How well you would fit in. Whether you can do the job or not cannot be determined until after the hire and time has gone by and one either can perform or not. But you can tell in an interview if the person has an engaging personality and whether he/she is a team player or wants to be an "All-Star". I did more interviews to hire people than I ever wanted to and it boiled down to how well I read them in the interview process. The job can be taught...personality, outlook, the ability to work well with others cannot. It is either there or it isn't. :)
