Unfortunately slavery is still being practiced in central and western Africa, mainly in Benin and their are sex slaves in Sudan and Gambon. There is also a wide use of child labour in India and children as young as five are weaving carpets to be sold in the western world, just for their food and keep.

You have first to define slavery. In its exact sense slavery means that a human being is degraded to the level of a merchandise which stands in the unlimited ownership of a mistress or a master. Slaves therefore can be bought, loaned and sold like cattle or a car or anything else. The mistress or master can do with their property whatever they like and they are not responsible to anybody how they are treating their property. This kind of slavery does no longer exist. There are similar systems which are even worse.
