Help answer this question below.

The fuel pump on my 1988 firebird will not kick on. i have installed a new fuel pump, fuel pump relay and still will not kick on. but when i connect a wire to the fuel pump relay straight to the battery it will the fuel pump will kick on. thanks.

    Sounds like you have verified that the pump works. If you have also replaced the relay, the next thing to suspect is that the relay isn't being fed power when you turn on the key. This would imply a problem in the ignition switch. Electrical problems are tough. Even tougher online. If possible, I recommend you take the car to an auto electric specialist.
