  • if they are fakes of the real thing but still look largely the same then i think it is a bit annoying for the original companies but they make so much money iot doesn't matter....but if i was offered a £1000 object for £100 and i wanted it then i would not hesitate in buying it as long as i knew the police would not get me...the police scare me :(
  • I don't by products for the brand-name... so my answer is: Eh!
  • It is WRONG to "use" someone elses name in order to sell, because you are putting another companies image on the line. In some situations, it's like betting with someone elses money. In other situations, it's more like stealing and deceite. ////// With that being said... To buy, wear, use a "fake" product, is to promote such behavior.
  • In Turkey you can buy many "FAKE"? designer products at very low prices and the quality is fantastic. So good that I truly believe that is where a lot of the designer stuff is made and we are just paying through the nose for it.
  • I don't care for brands and I don't give a shit that they are being copied. It's all one giant scam anyway, people paying for a name and feeling like they somehow have increased their status because of it. I see a guy with $600 sneakers on and another guy with a pair for $40, to me they're just two guys with sneakers on....big deal. Here in the brand obsessed capital of the world, Japan, they have themselves decked out in so many brands that it's just run of the mill now. I guess it's quite apt that they pronounce it "Blandoh", because that's what it is, very bland-oh!
  • If it is something electrical or food, I wouldn't buy. Yet, most of the other stuff, I take a calculated risk because as the other respondent said there is nothing absolutely risk free.
  • I could care less, I don't buy things for the brand, I buy things that I like and judge them for the quality by which they are manufactured. If it's junk, it's junk no matter whose brand you put on it. If you feel that brands are what make you, buy a fake brand if you can't afford the real brand, and if you get busted for it... serves you right for being so focused on image. If people weren't so fixated on brands, there wouldn't be a market for fake branded items.
  • I have bought both fake and authentic before. I much prefer fake. I have bought Prada shoes and a really expensive dress and handbag. The shoes were ruined from just wearing them in about 3 months, the dress lasted a night for a dinner and I'm too terrified to use the handbag properly. When I returned the dress to the designer I was told the it was my own fault that the dress was ruined (clearly I had been bungee jumping in it..NOT). €1,000 GONE! I first bought a fake when I wanted shoes but they had gone out of stock and were impossible to find and I've never looked back..they've held up well and still look amazing..nobody can tell the difference and if they had been ruined at least I only wasted a few euro rather than a few hundred euros.
  • i am all about generic stuff. i can say though, i wouldn't mind spending more money if i knew the product i was buying was made with the workers well beings in mind (not in sweatshops, made by young children, poor pay ... etc)
  • I could care less about brand names, I buy something because I like the way it looks, not who made it.
  • Most of the products that I buy are off brand and they turn out to be just as good as the name brand. Some things..you get what you pay for. Its a learning experience.
  • I'm not really into brands. I buy what I like, when I need it.
