  • it may fix it - try it and see. Your e-mails are not at risk if you uninstall and reinstall the application. If that does not sort it out you could try creating a new profile.This in XP, don't know if Vista works differently. Go to the Mail icon in Control Panel and click on that and the Show Profile button. Keep the current one and create another one using a different name by following the instructions. It will want you to put your e-mail details in again. Once you have the new profile, start Outlook with that profile and see if you get the error message comes up. If it turns out that your old profile is corrupt, make sure you can access all your folders under the new one you want to replace it with before you delete the old one
