I think programs built on ridiculing and otherwise verbally abusing people are in bad taste, and I don't generally watch them.

Yes, and you misspelled Ramsay. No points for you!
-
well it seems less staged that's for sure...

I think they are "staged" way too much because, who in their right mind would let someone talk to them like that? But, it builds audience interest (I think the audience is really hoping one day someone will "haul-off" and slug him)!

Kitchen Nightmares is a interesting series, if you don't work in the industry. there are a number of items that point towards them all being staged: - you will find that inviting ALL the population of a township is NEVER a problem on short notice - i feel that the kitchen in the series have not been cleaned for a while on purpose. there was one episode where ramsay put a meat delivery in a service fridge and blew up about it later on. If you look at the reactions of the head chefs, they are never surprised that he blows up. Consider this, you get ramsay coming through your business.. as a chef, there is NO way that you would not clean up. NO way. if it were that dirty they would be closed down by the council but never happenes? there are a number more points but cant be asked writing them :). In short, great series to watch but set up. I prefer the american ones because they go f*&*ing mental at each other. lol

I think the American one has a WAAAAYYY bigger budget, more dramatic music, and way too many cameras.
