  • A bank that you have an account with will.
  • cashing state checks shoul never pose too much of a problem becasue the state always has money... so the banks should know the check wont bounce.
  • Because many people are getting those "Rapid Refund" checks, that are printed out on a regular computer printer, and are very easy to falsify. Also, those types of checks are based on a loan from another bank, who does not transfer the funds until the Fed, Gov't transfers it to them, so the bank on the recieving end often is left holding a worthless piece of paper for two or three weeks, when that money could be in their coffers, accruing interest.
  • Because the government can come back for that check for either 4 or 7 years. So if the bank cashes the check and the govt. decides to recall the check, the bank is out the money.
