Yes. Nearly all animals can swim. Sometimes, if they have never been in the water before, they may be afraid; but they are easily trained to get over their initial fear. They do not have to be taught to swim, they know how already. Normal excercise for a horse would be to swim 500 to 1500 yards. Yes, they often use swimming as therapy. I used to swim out in the ocean with my horses and horse body surf back to the shore. Once they get used to not touching solid ground, they seem to like it as long as their nostrils don't get too much water in them. It's an awesome feeling to be sitting on a horses back and feel their buoyancy. Really awesome.

I went swimming on horse back in the sea in Jamaica. So yeah, they can. It's fun to slide off the back and get pulled along by the tail! :D

Yes horses can swim very well. Some take longer to get used to the water than others but a horse pool is a great therapy and is used for all race and show horses.

Yeah 99% of horses can, infact they are better swimmers than we are. Making a horse swin is therapy for injured legs as it strenghtens the legs without having to apply weight on the horses leg, especially if its injured.

Well yes. Most can. I just tried swimming my horse and he was an unlucky one that can't. Try in more shallow water first

Yes they can. Did your eally have to add "deep"? If something can swim, it doesn't matter if the water is 10 feet deep or 10,000 feet deep. swimming isn't affected by the amount of water underneath your feet
