It might have just been a warning, but seeing as cops always tend to pull people over for no serious reason because they're bored or want your money, you probably got a virtual ticket, though i'm not sure I know exactly what that is.

Hey, I'm a Deputy Sheriff. It could have gone either way. He may just have decided to give you a warning, or he could have written you up. I live in Minnesota, and our highways within the county are posted at 55. Usually if I see someone between 64-67, I'll just flash my lights and give them a "slow down" hand gesture, but anything over 68 is usually a stop for me. On the other hand, running a red light is a serious offence. It really depends on how long the light had been on red from the time you crossed over the intersection. If it just turned, then he probably just gave you a warning, but if it had been red for a while, I'm almost certain he wrote you up. Then again, it all depends on the officer. :D

Just a visual warning. If he had intended on issuing you a citation, he would have at that moment.
