  • Hi Amanda, you may want to look for a very good expensive camera, but at a flea market or on ebay! Lots of camera stores in my area actually sell their older models online or at the flea market, so you may be able to pick up a great used one for a reasonable price. Personally, I am a fan of Nikons. I have a Nikon EM that was new in the 1970's, but it takes phenomenal photos. (I have a lot of Nikkor lenses for different types of photos.) That's my personal camera - for work I have a Nikon D50 (digital) and a Nikon something-or-other (35mm). You might want to visit a local camera store and talk to the salespeople - avoid the chain stores at first, look for a locally owned business and get some basic advice. Or call the newspaper and ask to speak to a photographer - ask their opinion. :) Have fun and happy shooting!
  • the digital cameras out now are nice. if you want to blow up pictures get one with at least 10 megapixals or better and a telephoto lense. you can get a really nice one for maybe 150. of course there are much higher ones and also some nice ones around 100. look at adds and then go on the google and search for camera reviews. that's how i decided on mine. i don't have an expensive camera and am always loading pics up on sites and two were published in a website. i didn't even submit them they just found them.
  • try craiglist for used cameras. Also, film cameras are cheap now. If you want a digital camera,I would suggest a Kodak with a schneider lens (best lens in the world).Sony is also good at about $150
